Founded in 2004 Devonport Holiday Houses has grown to where we now have many, many houses.

We have houses where the owners live overseas most of the time and we manage their houses.  In the last couple of years we have taken on houses when owners go overseas and we manage their houses.   We take on many houses during the Summer Months - we always have a great selection of houses.

Please email us on dhh@xnet.co.nz and tell us what you are looking and dates of interest and we'll get back to you with options.

We have what we call "Seasonal Houses"  Have a look in our "Seasonal Houses"  - these are houses where the owners are going overseas and we find them guests during the time they are away - lovely houses - we have houses for May, June, July, August and September -- please email us on dhh@xnet.co.nz if you have any questions

Here at Devonport Holiday Houses we offer accommodations with a "point of difference"  We have been in the short term furnished accommodation business since 2004 and if repeat guests are any indication of its success then we are running with a winner

Things to Do

No visit to Devonport is complete without experiencing all that this village by the sea has to offer. Take time to experience the truly spectacular city and harbour views from the summits of Mt Victoria (Takarunga) and North Head (Takapuna), both of which were Maori Pa sites (fortified villages) and are both still fortresses of sorts today, with the Navy maintaining a presence. Both have gun embankments, bunkers and North Head is riddled with tunnels, many of which are accessible to the public and all dating back to the end of the 19th century.

Perhaps a more relaxed pace is more to your liking. Devonport is blessed with five beautiful white sand beaches all within walking distance from Mainstreet. So whether it's relaxing under the striking red flowers of the pohutukawa trees framing Devonport beach, swimming at Torpedo Bay or Cheltenham beach or eating an ice cream at Narrow Neck beach, you're bound to find your perfect spot in the sand.

To get a taste of the real Devonport, you're best to take a wander around the local streets, discovering the many heritage buildings and grand 19th century villas that contribute to Devonport's unique charm and character.

Most of Devonport can be explored on foot or perhaps you could hire a bicycle or take a fun Segway Tour by Magic Broomstick Tours. Alternatively Devonport Tours operates organized mini bus tours departing from the ferry building.

Devonport has always attracted a wide and diverse range of artists, writers, poets and craftspeople that live work and display their wares here. The numerous galleries - displaying oils and watercolours, glass art, ceramics and just about every media imaginable - combine with studios open to public viewing, bespoke jewellery manufacturers and a quirky craft market, to cement Devonport's place as Urban Arts Village and Arts centre of Auckland.
